Happy New Year, and congrats on surviving 2013!
I wanted to take a quick moment to update you on my current projects.
This year I’m putting out two print comics.
Mayim: Vol. 1
One comic will be the adaptation of the Mayim webcomic. It will feature new art, new dialogue, and new pages to flesh out the overview you saw last year.
There will be more character development, dinosaurs and story! You’ll see never-before-seen dinosaur morphs, learn the name of the human they find, and see more of the Ancient Moon city, a tour of the alien ship orbiting the planet, and more!
I’m planning to release the volume on three platforms: Amazon, Comixology, and IndyPlanet.
So far the volume is looking like it may be about 60-70 pages. It will include information on the Ilathou, Phaelosh, Nephilim and technology seen in the comic, as well as breakdowns of the Space Civilization, history of the galaxy and more!
I’ll keep you updated on the Volume as I progress.
Gem of Atlantis: Prologue
A smaller project I’m working on this year is a print comic for Gem of Atlantis, featuring a prologue of the story before I begin a series of issues. It’s going to be significantly smaller than Mayim, running at about 20 pages or so. Buying the Prologue may allow you access to a special, secret website accessible only to those who buy the comic!
It’s possible that, sometime this year, I will find time to reboot Gem of Atlantis’ webcomic branch. The last story line basically FUBAR’d and was not my original intent for the webcomic, therefore it became unusable. The Gem of Atlantis storylines you see this year will be the original, intended storylines for the webcomic. I’m personally considering the first Gem of Atlantis webcomic a dry-run, and I hope you will too.
Blog Plans for 2014
While working on these comics, I will have some time to create blog posts.
I have about 20 resource posts for web and print comic artists, as well as drawers and painters in general. I plan to release one per week (assuming all goes well).
Comic creator interviews
While I did run a few podcast interviews last year, several circumstances beyond my control prohibited me from working on them until about December. I still have two podcast interviews to air, however my focus may shift away from podcast interviews and turn to email or chat interviews with comic creators.
The podcast may continue, however I’m finding that attempting to maintain a podcast is very difficult considering my current workload and schedule. If I was doing nothing else, it would be easy to maintain, however as you can probably tell I have my plate full. 😀
So far, I have about 10 web and print comic creator interviews lined up, and one will be released each Friday. I will include links to their sites and social media outlets so you can connect with them!
I’m hoping that later in the year I may be able to host some round table discussions and possibly a Google Hangout recording Live on air, discussing issues comic creators have as well as victories and advice to the community.
So there you have it! I’ll keep you all posted for upcoming news, especially when Mayim and Gem of Atlantis become available for purchase.
Here’s to an amazing 2014!
